Analysis of the existing solution
During competitor research, I identified key entry points and common patterns for setting up auto-close that traders are already familiar with:
Next, I evaluated how well the existing interface met these standards. While the current solution provided similar entry points to competitor platforms, each of them required significant improvements.
Entry points for auto-close settings in the current solution
Solution
1. Auto-close settings before opening a trade
The auto-close feature includes two options:
Traders can use these options separately or together, depending on their strategy. However, the existing auto-close setup had several issues.
What needed to be fixed?
To solve this, I separated the auto-close settings into two distinct fields. This allowed traders to focus on one task at a time and configure only what they needed.

2. Auto-close settings on the chart
Research showed that the easiest way to set auto-close levels is directly on the price chart. Many competitors already offer this feature, and traders are familiar with how it works.
The existing implementation in the trading terminal needed major improvements.
What needed to be fixed?
To solve these issues, I introduced draggable sliders on the chart. Now, traders can quickly adjust auto-close levels by simply dragging them to the desired value. I also improved the overall design of the auto-close component on the chart.

3. Auto-close settings in the portfolio
I also made updates to the auto-close settings in the portfolio. You can read more about them in the Trading Portfolio case study.
